It is with incredible sadness that the family of Harry Lee Cooper shares the news of his sudden passing on January 24th at the age of 69.  Harry was the son of Joseph Bernard Cooper and Pauline Overstreet Cooper, both deceased.  Those who mourn his passing include his beloved wife Joyce Cooper, daughters Linda F. Cooper and Brenda Jackson-Cooper, grandsons Dylan Cooper Smith and Shay Thornton Smith, granddaughter Lucy Caroline Smith, daughter-in-law Teresa Jackson-Cooper, former son-in-law Jason Smith, his Core-Mark clients and co-workers, and his friends and neighbors on Dell Avenue in Northeast Roanoke.

After attending Jefferson High School in Roanoke, Harry volunteered to serve his country in Vietnam.  Following his return, he married Joyce in the summer of 1968 and three years later became the father of twin girls.  Throughout his lifetime Harry worked incredibly hard to provide for his family.  In his free time he enjoyed helping his neighbors with their yards and gardens and, ever an animal lover, never missed a chance to shower his cat Blackie and all of the neighborhood dogs with affection and treats.
