I will never forget the day you were born. I was excited for having a niece. Plus it was so close to my birthday I was hoping you would have been born on my birthday. Then on the same token I was jealous as it was the year I turned 16. And the fuss over the new baby in the family everyone forgot my birthday. Mom and Mike had come back from seeing you in the hospital and I was getting ready for my first ever date. Mom looked at me and said where do you think you are going. I replied on a date. She said not until you are 16........ OMG I forgot your birthday she ran to the shop to get a cake and tried to salvage the last remaining hours of the day. I laugh now about it. I watched you grow up grow into a beautiful young lady even though we were never close I do remember your toddler years. Before you moved off to California and then to Roanoke. You filled the world around you with warmth your smile would light up a room. I remember your full locks of curls and couldn't believe a baby could have that much hair. I am sorry that you had to leave us so soon. I guess more important things had to be attended to on the other side. Some one out there wants to share in the warmth of your smile. Just remember that your family loves you and is going to miss you greatly. Keep an eye over them. And send them your smile to help them along their way. And may you rest with the Angels. We love you Carissa.
