William “Brian” Etue, 43, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Born November 6, 1975 in Stuttgart, W. Germany, Brian was an artist, a vivid music lover, and a big Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved going to concerts and hanging out with his friends. He never met a stranger and was well known in his neighborhood as the “go to guy” when his neighbors needed help with anything. Brian faithfully attended Water of Life Church of God of Prophesy and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William F. Etue; maternal grandparents, Major and Guida Shepherd, and niece, Kaley Danielle Etue. Surviving family includes his loving wife, Andrea Ratkovich Etue; son, William Coda Etue; daughter, Kathryn Lynn Etue, all of Roanoke; parents, Michael and Darlene Etue of Vinton; brothers, Michael Jarrett Etue, of Roanoke, and Daniel Norwood Etue (Dorenda), of Richmond; grandmother, Merita H. Etue, of Vinton; father-in-law, Bill Ratkovich; mother-in-law, Susan Ratkovich; sister-in-law, Jennifer Jones (Trevor); three nieces; three nephews; one great-nephew, and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Donald Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
