Stella H McCrickard

Stella (Teenie) McCrickard, 83, of Vinton, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2018. She retired as an engineering assistant from Bell Atlantic with 42 years of service in 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband; Harold W. McCrickard; son, Stephen W. McCrickard; parents; Archie and Bertha Hughes; sisters, Bernice, Gertrude, Betty Lou, Rita and Jeanette Hughes; brothers, Dempsey Hughes, Burnette (Bessie) Hughes, Richard Hughes; brother in-law, Harold Taylor, and special pet, Diesel.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sharon M. Heptinstall and husband Chris; grandsons, whom she loved dearly, Jake, Logan, and Noah Heptinstall; sisters, Sue Taylor, Alice (Owen) Barker; sister in-law, Bernice Hughes; brother in-law, Charles McCrickard; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thanks to caregiver Ellen Wright, Visiting Angels and the folks at Amedisys Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday June 26, 2018, at Lotz Vinton Chapel. A Service will be held at Thrasher United Methodist Church, Wednesday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor B. Failes with a burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton.
