Sarah Jean Flowers

Sarah J. Flowers, of Bedford County, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was born May 2, 1937 to Samuel David and Nora Alberta Powers in Vinton, Va. She was a devoted member of Jeters Chapel Church of the Brethren and served on the board for many years. Sarah was also a Sunday school teacher and volunteered at R.A.M. House in her spare time. She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and member of the Jeters Chapel community. She was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Nora; sisters, Helen and Margaret, and her beloved husband, Doug, to whom she was married to for 42 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Wayne Cheatwood; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Louise Powers; sister, Cathy Lawrence; brother, Mike Powers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Paul Stover and Rev. Glen Sage officiating. Interment will follow in Jeters Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
