Riley Stephen Foutz, 90 of Jordantown, Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 26, 2020
He was born in Bedford County, Virginia on October 27, 1929, son of the late Wordie and Teressa Foutz. He was also predeceased by brothers Nelson and Sidney and sisters Mary Wade, June Patsell and Laura Meeks.
Riley proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the air craft carrier USS Midway and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a sheet metal worker for the MPS Corporation in Roanoke. He was devoted to his church, Barnhardt Baptist where he served as deacon and sang in the choir.
Riley is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Mary Jane, four children, Wanda Sanderson (Rick), Ricky (Karen),Donnie (Vicky) and Terry Obenchain (Randy). Grandchildren Todd Brown (Calli), Tina Edwards (David) and Stephen Foutz (Katy). Great Grandchildren, Brendan, Gabe, Asher and Derrick.
He is also survived by brother-in-law Ray Noell (Pauline) and sister-in-law Dot Preston and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also loved by many dear friends.
The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Carrington Cottage and Intrepid Hospice for the excellent care and compassion they showed to Riley and the family during this difficult time.
Riley travelled around the world while serving in the United States Navy and has now reached his final destination in Heaven.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
