Everyone knew Raymond for his generosity and kindness. He lived simply and selflessly and regularly helped any person in need with no expectations of repayment. His friends were friends for a lifetime.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed sharing these loves with friends and their children. In one favorite story, the neighborhood kids wanted to fish in his pond. To make the day as much fun as possible for them, he paid to stock the pond with trout. This is just one of the countless examples of the joy he found in helping others.
The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton and receive friends following the service.
Instead of flowers, friends can make charitable contributions to their favorite organizations in his memory in the spirit of his generosity for helping one another.
