Peter James Vandenbergh

Peter Vandenbergh, 101, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020. He worked at several jobs, the last being an orthopedic technician at Strong Memorial Hospital that was connected with the University of Rochester, NY. He served in the U S Navy during WWII and was a member of Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir. Peter had a very good sense of humor and was a good fixer.

He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, and three sisters. Surviving family includes his wife, Frances; sisters, Millie and Doris; six children; 15 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Rev. Robert Hastings and David Vandenbergh officiating. The service will be restricted to family only but will be webcast (live streamed) at www.lotzfuneralhomevinton.com . A private interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Va.
