Opal Maxine Barton

Opal Maxine Barton, 88, of Jordantown, passed away on Tuesday August 20, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Sol and Dollie Thompson Barton; brothers Robert “Bob” Barton, Howard Barton and William “Bill” Barton.

Left to cherish her memory are her nieces Marilyn Reynolds, Jordantown, Betty (George) Souza, Ann (Kerry) Barton both of California; Great - niece Jennifer (Michael) Stokes, Jordantown; Great -nephew Alexander Souza, California; Great- Great -niece Brianna Rose Stokes, Jordantown and sister-in-law Virginia “Pete” Barton, Jordantown and many special friends. Opal was a member of Barnhardt Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Henry Ivey and staff, Kindred at Home and Good Samaritan Hospice for all your care and support. Also, Jackie for all your kindness and care and Linda for all your good cooking.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday August 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton, VA with the Pastor Joseph Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Opal always said God was a great Artist that creates beautiful clouds in the sky along with amazing sunrises and sunsets. On August 20, 2019, God took into his eternal home one of His most precious and beautiful masterpieces He ever created.
