Mildred E Ray, 85, of Roanoke, retired to be with the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2020. She was a kind, compassionate, and forgiving soul and it kept her family together and made her children who they are now. Her faith in the Lord is what kept her going. She never held a grudge against anyone and was a hard worker and humble person.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Ray; parents, Alfred and Sarah Reed; brother, Zannie Reed and Lindsey Reed; sisters, Lantie Beckner and Joyce Howell, daughters, Patsy Cundiff and Sandra Ray, and son, Wayne Pacetti.
Surviving family includes a son, Thomas Pacetti; daughters, Pam Cole, Diane Love, Sarah Gearhart, and Susie Yates; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A service, limited to family, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Terry Nester officiating. Interment will follow in Reed Family Cemetery. A monitored visitation will take place for two hours prior to the service where limited visitors will be allowed with social distancing and face coverings required.
