Mildred Ann Jennings

Mildred Ann Haga Jennings, 79, of  Moneta, went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was born in Rural Retreat, VA on January 20, 1942.and grew up in Dublin, Virginia near Claytor Lake. She unexpectedly passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She never wanted to be the center of attention however gave all of her attention to those around her. She attended Mayflower Hills Baptist Church in Roanoke County. She worked outside the home at various points in her life with several school systems which she thoroughly enjoyed. For the most part, however, she devoted her life to raising her family and extended family. She was a loving mother and homemaker, and a remarkable cook and had an extra special potato soup and banana pudding that everyone loved! She loved preparing meals for her family especially during the holidays and enjoyed making crafts, gardening, sewing, and floral design. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Jennings, and her parents Lawerence & Mary Haga.

She was the precious mother of three children: Sandy Gould, Dana Atkins, and Dennis Jennings Jr. Her compassion and love will continue her legacy through her 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She has two surviving brothers, John Haga of Roanoke and Bill Haga of North Carolina, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Jennings.

She requested a small intimate burial which will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 4:00 PM a graveside service at Mayflower Hills Baptist Church Cemetery.
