Max Preston Shifflett, 91, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was retired from the Roanoke City School System as a painter. Max served in the U S Army and loved old cars, hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Jo Shifflett.

Surviving family includes sons, Mark Shifflett (Rose), Les Shifflett (Michelle), and Matthew Shifflett (Beth); grandchildren, Mark, Jr. (Man), Joey, Andrew, Jessica, Mattie, and Hunter, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Ronnie Palmer and Pastor Brian Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service.
