Mary Jane Miner

Mary Doss Miner, more affectionately known as Minnie, age 60, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021. Born and raised in Danville, VA, to Nancy and Curtis Doss, whom she is survived by. She graduated from George Washington High School and Patrick Henry Community College with a degree in nursing. Mary was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter Katie (Wes), her partner Richard, her sister Martha (Charles), her kitty (Lillian), her grand pets (Teddy and Gwen), her furr nephew and nieces (Cocoa Puff, Phoebe, and Piper) and her special roommate and friend, Rosie. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her kind heart, her love of animals, and her dedication to her family and friends.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at a later date. Because of Mary's great love for animals, in lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a memory garden to be planted to honor Mary at Vinton Veterinary Hospital. Remaining funds will be donated to their Good Samaritan Fund. Checks should be made payable to Vinton Veterinary Hospital, Mary Miner Memorial Fund, 1309 E Washington Avenue, Vinton, VA 24179.
