Margaret Chittum Brown

Margaret Chittum Brown, 74, passed away on 10/12/2020. She was born in Roanoke and retired from Rubatex in Bedford and worked many years at Fred Whitaker and Roanoke Mills in Roanoke. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Ollie Chittum and three brothers, Roy, Franklin, and Leon; and one sister, Phyllis Sweeney.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 58 years James H. Brown; one sister Cora Lee Rucker, one son, Jimmy J. Brown and two daughters, Trina Alachnowicz (Mike) and Marcia Lam (Levi); one grandson, Michael Alachnowicz; two step-grand daughters, Elizabeth Lam (Cody), Velna Perdue and several great step-grand children, Ember, Lelia and Brayden.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Lotz’s Vinton Chapel with Fr. Tom Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Lotz’s Vinton Chapel.
