Judith “Ann” Miller Cawley, 76, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. She was born in Roanoke,VA on September 10, 1941, a daughter of the late William Howard Miller and Lorena “Teenie” Love Miller. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Wesley “Jack” Cawley; son, William “Greg” Cawley; son-in-law, Jeffrey “Rambo” Wallace; sisters-in-law, Della Childress, Kathleen Cawley; and brother-in-law, Paul Tarbox.
She retired from Roanoke County Public School with 27 years of service as a bus driver. Ann was a wonderful mother to her children and her four grandchildren whom called her Mawmaw were the loves of her life. She had a sense of humor like no other and always had you laughing. She was truly a one of a kind special lady. Ann had a heart of gold, never met a stranger and welcomed all who entered her home with love and kindness. If you were blessed to have known her then you felt the genuine love she had for so many. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Laura Ann Wallace; son, Mike Cawley and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Remington Wallace, Ryan Wallace, Madison Cawley, Mason Cawley; sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams; brothers-in-law, William Cawley, Wayne Cawley and wife Pat, Avon Cawley and wife, Joyce, Kenny Cawley and wife Lois, Phillip Cawley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Lotz Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Willie Ratliff officiating. A burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
