John Wesley Scruggs

John Wesley Scruggs, 79, of Vinton, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021. He was a member of Barnhardt Baptist Church in Goodview and was employed by Roanoke City Schools for over 30 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Virginia Scruggs; sister, Ruth Powell, and brothers, Eddie and Bobby Scruggs.

Surviving family includes his wife of 57 years, Dianne Hollins Scruggs; sons, Stephen (Carol) Scruggs, and Kenneth (Mary) Scruggs; grandchildren, Stephanie (Michael) McManus, Pamela Scruggs, Wesley Scruggs, Emily Scruggs, Joy Scruggs, Andrea Scruggs, Joshua (Katie) Scruggs, and Julia (Cody) Rolston; great-grandchildren, Timothy and Peter McManus; sister, Mary Minnix; sisters-in-law, Jackie Scruggs, and Jackie Scruggs (Glenn) Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Rev. A. C. Hollins and Rev. Mark Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
