John Joseph Jones

John (Johnny) Jones, 67, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Wednesday, March 10th.   

Johnny had over 45 years in the construction industry.  He was a man who believed in hard work and took pride in everything he did.

Johnny is survived by the love of his life, Rita Jones. They were married for 47 years, but had known each other much longer.   Their love was one to admire.

Johnny is also survived by his only daughter, Kathy, her husband Jimmy, and his 2 grandsons, Blake and Will.  He showed them all he loved them unconditionally.

Johnny is also survived by his sister Patsy Jones.  He is predeceased by his parents, Ira and Kathleen Jones, his brother Gary Jones and his in-laws, Frank and Ivory Brown.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Nancy, Seth and many others at Carilion Hospice for the great care they provided for Johnny and his family.  

We will miss Johnny more than words could ever express! 

A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, March 15th at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Chaplain Seth McCormick officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4-6pm prior to the service.
