Jacqueline “Jackie” Sue McGuire Sparks, 74, of Hardy, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 31, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born February 25, 1948 in Franklin County to James Theodore McGuire, Sr. and Elizabeth Francisco Meador. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1966 and was retired from General Electric with over 40 years of service. She was predeceased by her parents, James McGuire, Sr. and Elizabeth Francisco Meador; step-father, Herbert Meador, and brother-in-law, Ronnie “Rip” Furr.
Surviving family includes her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Tony Sparks; sons, Michael Sparks (April), and John Sparks; grandchildren, Reagan, Reese, and Heston Sparks; siblings and their spouses, James McGuire, Jr. (Joyce), Phyllis StClair, Jerry McGuire (Sue), Brenda West (Allen), Kenneth Meador (Kathy), Charlene Furr, and Vikki Funck (Dave); sister by choice, Carolyn Huffman, and numerous nieces, Nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be at 3 PM on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Chris Kingery officiating.
