Ira Mitchell Quarles

Ira Mitchell Quarles, 82, of Thaxton, Va. passed away on February 21, 2022, after battling multiple health issues for years. He was predeceased by his parents, Ira Bell and Alice Bowyer Quarles of Blue Ridge.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Ruby Anderson Quarles; son, Robert Mitchell (Bobby) Quarles; daughters, Sylvia Bailey and husband Donnie, Devera Quarles; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Harold Quarles and wife Gloria..
He was owner and operator of H&H Cabinet Company of Goodview, VA. for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy, aboard the U.S.S. Everglades for over 6 years.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lotz Vinton Chapel. There will be a graveside service 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1861 JordanTown Road, Thaxton, VA. with Pastor Ben Sturgis officiating.
