Helen Chattin Creasy, 89, of Moneta, beloved mother and grandmother passed away Friday, February 9, 2018. She retired from Tom’s Foods after 40 years and was a member of Parrish Chapel United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, William “Shorty” Creasy; parents, James and India Chattin; brothers, Irvin, Robert, Leslie, and Sherman; sisters, Jewel Hale and Alice Nolen; son-in-law, Ronnie Scott, and grandson, Jack Wines.

Surviving family includes children, Jerry Creasy and wife, Carolyn, Teresa Yopp and husband, Jr., and Nancy Scott; brother, Charles Chattin and wife, Marie; sister, Lois Hurdle, and brother-in-law, Toby Nolen; grandchildren, Misty, Chris, Jessica, Jodi, Mariah, Julie, Willie, and Marci; great-grandchildren, Shaina, Noah, Rand, Jo, Reba, Chuck, Brooke, Amanda, Johnnie, and Herbie; six great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton with Rev. Mickey White officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
