Gordon Everette Sowers

Gordon Everette Sowers, 76, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Allie and Gordon Sowers; brother, James E. Sowers, and in-laws, Sam and Arlene Scott.

Surviving family includes his loving wife of 52 years, Kathryn Sowers; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Cindy Sowers; grandchildren, the light of his life, Christiaan, Austin, and Hannah Sowers; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bev and Barry McCarty, Irene and Clarence Weddle, and Louise and Lewis Creasey; special niece and nephew, Michael and Wendy McCarty; special cousin, Bonnie and John Bierer; other nephews and niece, aunts, uncles, cousins and his special fur friends, Max and Sophie.

A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Vinton Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Russell and Dr. Chris Monroe officiating. The family receiving friends from 12-3 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
