Fred Dennis Moorman, 77, of Goodview, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. He was a Virginia State Trooper and retired as a railroad detective from Norfolk Southern Railroad. Fred could always be found around his barn with his show horses and his beagles. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Odessa Moorman.

Surviving family includes his sons, Shane and Travis Moorman; brother, Jerry Moorman and wife, Joyce; niece, Sarah Moorman; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Barnhardt Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
