Frances Irene Rucker Hambrick, 93, of Vinton, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017. She was a long time member of the Pentecostal Church and the VFW Auxiliary, Rachael Rebecca Lodge #4. She worked for S. H. Kress Company for 28 years and then retired from ITT after 15 ½ years of service. She was predeceased by her parents, George L. and Bessie Irene Hammond; husband, James Paul Hambrick; brothers, George L. and Robert Hammond, and grand-daughter, Sandra Leigh Parcell.

Surviving family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Bessie and Gene Henegar; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Glenna Hammond, Parris and Lois Hammond, and Alma Hammond; grandchildren, Robert Henegar and June, Joyce Neil and Vernon, Gene Henegar, Jr., and Buddy and Courtney Henegar, and many great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 20217 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 4-6 PM at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Medi Home Hospice for their excellent care of Frances.
