Evelyn Saunders Hudson, 99, of Goodview, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. She was born January 16, 1919 to the late Hollie and Carrie Saunders and was a long time member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. She loved the simple life like doing things such as quilting, gardening, canning and spending time with her family and loved ones. She was also predeceased by sisters, Ellen Brown and Hazel Stevens; brothers, Edgar Saunders, Hubert Saunders, and Haywood Saunders and daughter, Shelby Hurt.

Surviving family includes granddaughters, Tammy Vaught (Mark) and Tracy Loyd (Eric); great-grandsons, Justin Leonard (Michelle) and Tyler Loyd; great-great granddaughters, Mykenzie, Madyson, and Maryssa, and son-in-law, Earnie Berkley Hurt.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. A special thank you to Carilion Hospice team, Samantha, Tiffany, and Seth.
