Erma James Martin, 80, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017. She was an avid gardener, cook, musician, painter, and care giver with a heart of gold. She also had a special way with any animal especially horses and dogs.

Erma was predeceased by her parents, John and Oral Overacre; brothers, John Willard, Russell Allen, Clayton Nevels, Sidney Edward, and Luther Dale, and sisters, Stella Hellard and Murlean Boswell.
Surviving family includes her children, Wanda Ford Fitzgerald and husband, Bryan, and Debra Norton Jones and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Robert G. Barnes, III, Erin R. Fitzgerald and fiancé, Shawn Williams, Taylor L. Fitzgerald and fiancé, Noe Guzman; great-grandchildren, Carmen and Noe Guzman, and Ryland and Raiden Williams, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Rev. Jeff Gardner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. For more information please visit www.lotzfuneralhomevinton.com
