Obituary

Earldean Lois Sarver Rorrer, 77, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2023, surrounded by her family at her side. Earldean had unknowingly been in failing health for a while but friends and family never realized her death would come so soon. Her Christian life started at Belmont Christian Church in Roanoke. With her faith she lived a good Christian life. Born December 12, 1945, in Trenton, NJ, she was the second of eight children born to the late Walter L. and Jean L. Sarver, formerly of Bedford, Virginia. She lived her whole life in Virginia, Roanoke, Martinsville, and Bedford. She led a full and gratifying life of homemaking, love of flowers and recently growing a vegetable garden, nurturing the things she grew and enjoyed eating and sharing them. Her life was always centered around her family and grandchildren. She loved to travel and took many vacations with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite places were the beach and the Great Smokey Mountains.

Earldean’s work history included Panel Factory, Basset Walker, and a devoted caregiver of her father the last 10 years of his life. She was predeceased by her mother, Jean L. Sarver; father, Walter L. Sarver; two brothers, A. Richard Sarver, and Robert M Sarver, and her husband Buck Rorrer.

Surviving family includes one daughter, Melissa Dawn Rorrer Hernandez, of Martinsville; two sons: Brad Elliott Rorrer, of Martinsville, and Bryan Scott Rorrer and wife, Angel, of Fries; six grandchildren, Tony Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez, Elissa Conner, Bryan “Scotty” Rorrer, Kathleen Rivera, Kayley Jones; two sisters and three brothers: Janette Sarver Koressel, Susanne Sarver Sigman, Nelson Sarver, Larry Sarver, and Gregory Sarver, and her Beloved dog, Penny. Love is forever!
