Dorothy Pearl Perkins Corder, 94, of Vinton, born December 7, 1023 to Hayes and Catherine Perkins, raised in Barbour County, W.VA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018 at her home.
She was a devoted Christian and was a charter member of Freedom Southern Baptist Church in Nutter Fort, W.VA. For the last five years she was a member of First Roanoke Church. She was a hard working homemaker and enjoyed canning applesauce and garden vegetables, and reading the Bible daily.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul Corder, with whom she resided in Nutter Fort, W.VA.; brother, Bern Perkins and wife, June, and sister, Edna Pritchett.
Surviving family includes her children, Gary Corder, James A. Corder, Kathy Mathis and husband, Terry, and Gladys Ann Pugh and husband, David; grandchildren, Tiffany Kelley and husband, Scott, Gary S. Corder, Michael Corder and wife, Marcia, Sarah Pitts and husband, Quinton, Erica Dale and husband, Greg, Brian Mathis and wife, Michelle, Kristy Hayes and husband Dennis, Benjamin Pugh, and Sarah Chappell and husband, Joseph; 23 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home at 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, WVA, 26301. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. The family extends a special thanks to Heartland Hospice Care
