Clifton Edward Bowyer, 90, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018. Cliff (aka “Frog”) was employed by American Bridge Works, Nelson Boothe Construction, H&H Cabinet Shop and retired from Martin Bros. Construction.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Stevens Bowyer; son, Steve Bowyer, and daughter Brenda Shepherd; brothers, Ernest, Sam, Guy, Dan, and Jeter Bowyer; sisters, Annie, Eula, Elizabeth, Dot, and Lois. He was the last surviving child of the late John and Fannie Bowyer.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Boothe (Stacey); daughter in-law, Vicky; sisters- in-law, Edith and Nellie Bowyer, Anne, Dorothy, and Margaret Stevens, Carlie Woods (Charles) and brother-in-law, Kenny Stevens (Alice).
“Papa Frog” is survived by his grandchildren , Shannon Waldron, Stephanie Marshall (Jim), Brandon Waldron (Lindsey), Nicky Bowyer and boyfriend Cameron Epperly, Cody Bowyer and Devin Boothe; great- grandchildren, Alexis, Riley, Bryson, Jordan, Nicholas, Brooke, Doug, Faythe, Eryn, Lilly and Teigan. Also by a host of nieces and nephews who considered him their Papa.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Lotz Vinton Chapel with Pastor Jim Worline officiating. Burial to follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton.
