Claude “Jim” L. Williams, 87, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was retired from Norfolk Southern after 40 years of service and was a long time member of Vinton Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Williams.
Surviving family includes sons, Travis Williams and wife, Donna, and Chad Williams and fiancé, Rhonda Woolwine; daughter, Ann Galliher and husband, Kevin; sisters, Doris Sowers, Jean DeLong, Shirley Overacre, and Marie Gray; grandchildren, Michael Williams, Paul Williams and fiancé, Addie Tuck, Hunter Williams, Hannah Williams, Lindsey Galliher, and Reid Galliher, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Lotz Funeral Home Vinton Chapel with Rev. Dr. Chris Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
