Clarence Hartwell Gray, 88, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017. He worked for Mountain Trust Bank from 1946 - 1951 and served in the U S Army from 1951 - 1953. He retired from Rubatex Corporation following 40 years of service as a Senior Quality Control Technician. After retirement he devoted himself to his family, friends, and community. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Woodman of the World.

He was predeceased by his parents, Emory and Alease Gray and a brother, Cofer Gray.

Surviving family includes his son, Gary Gray; granddaughter, Desire Henderson and husband, David; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; ex-wife, Juanita Gray; niece, Ramona Gray; nephew, Safford E. (Sonny) Gray, and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Mike Grooms officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
