Mrs. Bonnie J. Perdue

Bonnie J. Perdue, 90, of Bedford County, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Roy C. Perdue. Bonnie was born to the late Mr. Dewey Basham and Mary T. Basham in Hardy, Va. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Budd Ross Basham and a dear sister-in-law, Nellie T. Basham.

Bonnie is survived by her brothers, Hulon E. Basham and Dewey Demsey Bashan and sister-in-law, Martha Perdue and a special nephew, Donald W. Basham and many other nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was a military wife and homemaker she lived in Germany and South Carolina while on active duty. They eventually settled in Bedford County where they built their home. Bonnie was a devoted member of Chamblissburg Baptist Church. She was a devoted family member who loved cooking and visiting friends and family and taking care of her special animals. The family would like to thank Centra Hospice especially, Susan, Sissy and Ellen.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Lotz Funeral Home, 305 East Washington Avenue, Vinton. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held 11 am, November 13 at Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton with Pastor Joe Whiting officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton.
