Bobby Cleveland Kesler, 85, of Hardy, was called to Heaven to be with Jesus on Saturday afternoon, September 8, 2018. His number one goal in life was his loving wife of 63 years, Alzie, who was on his mind until his final breath on earth. Bobby loved the farm and never met a stranger. Family and friends who knew him well would agree that Bobby always had a story to tell whether current or 70 years in the past and is probably telling one now. He was predeceased by his parents, Judd and Elsie Kesler, and a special sister-in-law Nancy Kesler.
Surviving family includes his wife, Ida Alzie Kesler; son, Richard Kesler and wife, Kelly; daughter, Peggy Carr and husband, Alan; brother, Jimmy Kesler; grandchildren, Ryan Kesler and wife, Jessica, Kirston Kesler, Korey Hines, Danielle Carr, and Dylan Carr; great-grandchildren, Annsley and Colby Kesler; special niece and nephews, Linda Booth and husband, Allen and family, Donald Kesler, Robert Kesler and wife, Brenda and family, and David Kesler and wife, Amanda and family; special cousin, Edward Morgan; several special sisters-in-law and other nieces and nephews. Bobby, Husband, Dad, and “Papa Bob”, you will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Rev. Glen C. Stinnett officiating. Interment will follow in Nineveh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to thank everyone that helped. Special thanks to Springtree Rehab, Fran and Elizabeth, his home health care providers and Carilion CCU. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to White Rock Baptist Church or Nineveh Church. Online condolences and a live webcast of the service may be found at www.lotzfuneralhomevinton.com
