On July 23, 2014, Margie Penick, 86, made her long awaited journey from her earthly life to her Heavenly home to join her family members and friends who have gone on before her. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Raleigh and Leliah Riggs; four brothers, Julian Riggs, David Riggs, Douglas Riggs, and Clayton Riggs; one sister, Betty Williams; and a dearly beloved brother-in-law Lewis Coy. She is survived by her four children; Charles “Butch” Sartin (Pat), Patsy Speight (Larry), Doris Brown, and James Rucker (Sandy); two brothers, Arthur Riggs and Gilbert Riggs; and two sisters, Mary Coy and Irene Willien. She has eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Margie was born and raised in Giles County before moving to Roanoke in 1952. She moved to Princeton, WV in 1978 where she was a very faithful member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Apostolic Church. She had many friends in Giles County and Princeton, WV and everyone that knew her fell in love with her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was well-known for her talents in the kitchen where she created many happy smiles. Margie was a true example of what a Christian should be and that’s why she was loved by so many! Funeral services will be at Lotz Vinton Chapel Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2pm with Elder David Minton officiating. Viewing will be from 12pm to 2pm prior to the service.
