Born March 31, 1928, Dot retired from owning and managing Image Boutique, a lingerie shop at Tanglewood Mall for 20+ years.  She was predeceased by her husband James (Bill) William Brammer.  She faithfully and lovingly took care of Bill who had been blind for 18 years before his death in 2006.  Dot was also predeceased by her parents, Eldridge L. and Flossie Mae Vest Wright, four sisters and four brothers. Surviving family includes her youngest brother, John Wright of New Mexico; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Brammer, Joel and Debbie Brammer, all of Roanoke; Chris and Lee Brammer of Hampstead, MD; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and David Palmer of Roanoke and April and William Brown of Troutville; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, were honored to call her Grandma! Dot was a member of East End Baptist Church for 50+ years.  When she was a young adult, Dorothy was an avid bowler, bringing home many trophies.  Everyone loved to stop by Dot and Bill's for some good conversation, a pot hot coffee and delicious pound cake.  Dot was quite the baker and would always have some homemade baked goods to share. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Rev. Chris Brammer officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton.  The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm.  The family would like to express our thanks to the United Methodist Home for the excellent care that our mother received there and for the cherished friendships. To Jeannie's Elderly Care, we offer our gratitude and appreciation for caring for mama this past year.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gentle Shepherd Charities, 6045 Peters Creek Rd Roanoke, VA 24019 for the great comfort we found in the gentle care you ministered to our mother in these last few weeks.  May God bless you!
